CAJU

Today, January 3rd, a part of me is gone and I'm still trying to come to terms with it. I knew this moment would come and I was scared to death that it would, but I didn't think it would happen so quickly. I imagined my Cashew, old, struggling to walk, perhaps blind and without teeth, but fate decided to take you like this, without giving me any explanation. I'm not ready to say goodbye to you, nor am I ready to stop seeing your cute little face every day. I'm not ready to come home and not be showered with kisses, as if you hadn't seen me for years. I'm not ready to stop hearing the sound of your paws, to stop seeing you sunbathing as much as you liked, I'm not ready to stop giving you your heart pills every morning and to stop seeing you preparing your cozy nest. I don't feel ready to go for our walks without you.
You're a piece of me, you weren't my little dog, you're family, you were my support and you'll be the love of my life.
