Iris, you were and always will be our greatest love. My best friend. Faithful, intelligent, beautiful, independent... the most human-like kitten.
When that day we went to adopt a kitten that wasn't you, and you put your paw out, as if asking to come with us, it was the best thing that could have happened to us.
Now I can imagine you everywhere you went to bed, I can hear you meowing for food, I can see you sitting next to us in the chair asking for fish and I can see you calmly going to the garden. Thank you for meeting me at the door every day when I got home from work, whether you were asleep or not. Thank you for sitting on my lap while I studied or on my computer to pay attention to me.
When you left, a butterfly appeared next to us in the hospital, and I think that means a lot about you. Be happy and free like her.
